3D Applied Research Engineer @ AvatarOS
Unreal Source #salary-jobs
// REQUIRED SKILLS
**Responsibilities**
We’re looking for an Applied Research Engineer who sits at the intersection of machine
learning, real-time 3D graphics, and systems engineering. You don’t need to have shipped a
production avatar system or written a Gaussian splat renderer — but you should have the
foundations to learn fast, prototype with confidence, and translate cutting-edge research into
working systems. You’ll work closely with ML engineers, graphics engineers, and technical
artists to push the frontier of real-time digital humans.
**Qualifications**
A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
3D math and geometry — comfortable with point clouds, meshes, transformations, and
the concepts underlying modern representation methods.
ML fundamentals — you understand model architectures, loss functions, training
dynamics, and can read a paper and implement it.
Strong Python.
Experience with a deep learning framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow) beyond tutorial
level.
Hands-on experience with a real-time engine (Unreal Engine, Unity) or a content/VFX
pipeline tool (Houdini, Maya, or similar DCC) — ideally some exposure to both worlds.
