E5 Server Mod / Reverse-Engineering Specialist — (The Isle: Evrima community)
Unreal Source #freelance-jobs
// REQUIRED SKILLS
**Responsibilities**
Work hands-on with a live, high-population The Isle: Evrima dedicated server (UE5, shipping build, 300-slot) to resolve two production issues: an intermittent server crash, and rubberbanding / ping spikes that appear under high player load. The role is deep engine-level work, not Blueprint scripting.
Diagnosing and fixing a recurring server crash on the production GHB server (Windows/Wine via panel.gg)
Investigating and reducing rubberbanding and ping spikes at high concurrency (200+ players), where the game-thread tick time climbs toward the 30Hz budget
Working within an existing C++ injected mod (MinHook-based) and a UE4SS + Lua mod stack
**Qualifications**
Strong Unreal Engine 5 internals knowledge (object model, GUObjectArray, ProcessEvent, replication/Iris, tick groups, NetDriver)
Proven UE4SS experience (C++ mods and Lua) on dedicated servers
C++ with hooking/detours (MinHook, Detours) and DLL injection
Reverse engineering on stripped shipping binaries: Ghidra, x64dbg, AOB scanning, offset/struct mapping
Comfortable diagnosing crashes from limited shipping-build feedback (no console/symbols), core dumps, and memory analysis
Bonus: prior work on The Isle: Evrima or similar large-scale UE multiplayer survival servers
**How to Apply**
Send a short note on relevant UE/UE4SS modding or reverse-engineering work you've done (links, repos, or a description of a comparable problem you solved) and your rate/availability.
