Rockstar Games is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Online Services organization, as someone who can lead a talented and diverse team of developers. The successful candidate will be working on innovative technology with an internationally established team, while having great attention to detail, being a strong teammate and having excellent communication skills.  

We are looking for someone who is passionate about games, eager for new challenges, and ready to continue our legacy of creating the greatest games in the world. 

This is a full-time, in-office position based out of Rockstar’s NYC headquarters in Downtown Manhattan. 

WHAT WE DO

  • The Rockstar Games Online Services Team is a passionate development group, focused on growing and maintaining the technology platform that powers Rockstar’s online titles and our ability to deliver world-class player experiences. 
  • We architect and maintain high-impact web features. 
  • We create connected experiences that are found across our game franchises. 
  • We provide infrastructure and tooling to enable Rockstar Games to provide an engaging, safe, and fully supported experience for all of our players. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of software engineers, fostering growth, innovation, and engineering excellence. 
  • Guide and mentor the team and collaborate with senior engineers to facilitate problem solving for complex challenges. 
  • Define objectives and key results for the team, devise plans to meet the objectives, and communicate those via roadmaps to technical leadership. 
  • Conduct performance evaluations for engineering team members, including regular check-ins to assess progress and re-align where necessary. 
  • Ensure engineering best practices are consistently applied: including code quality, testing, system design, performance optimization, and observability. 
  • Partner closely with other teams across Online Services and Rockstar more broadly, to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions. 
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Production team members to define scope and requirements and schedule future team projects. 
  • Collaborate with teams from other domains to integrate systems into the wider architecture and design landscape. 
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical collaborators, focusing on understanding their needs and translating complex engineering concepts into clear, actionable objectives. 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of professional web development experience at an enterprise level organization, including 3+ years leading an engineering team of 4 or more people. 
  • A degree in computer science or equivalent.
